The broadband industry’s only choice for Ethernet connectivity that does not sacrifice revenue from traditional services

Tellabs 1000 Multiservice Access Platform (MSAP) supports Ethernet connectivity at the central offices, remote cabinets and customer premises. Our portfolio includes 10Gbps and 1Gbps Ethernet interfaces toward the core network, across inter-terminal transport and an option for 10/100 Ethernet drops to end users. This empowers the Tellabs 1000 MSAP to cost-effectively support Ethernet connections for Business Services, CAFII, 911 Redundancy, DSL Backhaul, Cellular Backhaul and Class-5 Switch Replacement while never sacrificing revenue from legacy narrowband copper-based services.

The 3 cards that make this all happen for the Tellabs 1000 MSAP are the Tellabs 10 Gigabit Ethernet 226 (GbE226), Gigabit Ethernet 222 (GbE222) and the Ethernet Service 10/100 (ES10/100).

GbE226 – The new GbE226 card allows our service providers to maximize their embedded base of Tellabs 1000 MSAP and accelerate their service delivery capacity, all while minimizing fiber uplink impact. The Tellabs GbE226 card provides four (4) 1Gbps Ethernet ports small form-factor pluggable (SFP) and two (2) 1Gbps/10Gbps Ethernet ports enhanced small form-factor pluggable (SFP+).

GbE222 – The GbE222 card enables the Tellabs 1000 MSAP to evolve with networks moving from circuit switched/connection-based to packet/connectionless-based. The GbE222 transceiver supports Ethernet in a Tellabs 1000 MSAP for Ethernet uplink to the service provider’s network and inter-terminal transport. The GbE222 provides 2 Gigabit Ethernet ports equipped with optional configurations of SFPs.

ES10/100 – The ES10/100 card enables Ethernet service to be delivered directly to business customers from any shelf. Each ES10/100 provides up to 100 Mbps of bidirectional traffic per port. Each card provides two independent ports. The GbE226 and GbE222 uplink cards can be used to support cross-connects with this card.
