We recently published a news release announcing the successful installation of a Tellabs Optical LAN system at VT Group’s center of worldwide operations located in Chantilly, Virginia’s technology hub to showcase OLAN as a highly secure, modern, high-performance network.
The security and protection of corporate digital assets was a key factor in VT Group’s decision to install an OLAN system. VT Group possesses extensive experience installing military grade OLAN solutions for the federal government, as it delivers better security at the user, infrastructure and system levels compared to legacy copper-based LANs.
With the OLAN design, VT Group saved thousands of dollars by converging whole, disparate networks onto a common fiber-based infrastructure. These cost savings are a result of how OLAN simplifies the network in a way that saves space and materials. For example, the OLAN system’s converged design currently supports all modern enterprise IT systems, including VT Group’s IP video delivery, unified communications, Electronic Safety & Security, Audio & Visual, Voice over IP and extensive Wi-Fi wireless.
The fact that VT Group showed this commitment to the technology and announced that they were moving forward with installing Tellabs OLAN in other regional offices is one of the many reasons why VT Group won the Tellabs’ Global Partner of the Year Award at our 2017 Partner Conference (#TLPC2017).
