The Tellabs 1000 Multi-Service Access Platform, or MSAP, is the industry’s only Broadband Digital Loop Carrier that converges legacy copper and modern fiber connectivity. That’s our 21-gun salute! It’s a bold statement, but all true.
How’d we get here?
Tellabs has provided access solutions to service providers for over three decades. During this time, we have shown an unwavering support of our embedded Tellabs 1000 MSAP. Other manufacturers have struggled with parts obsolesce that ultimately leads to the end-of-life of their product lines. Yet, Tellabs continues to invest in the Tellabs 1000 MSAP by commiting R&D cycles to sustaining the copper-based cards, while adding modern IP/Ethernet and fiber-based cards.
How does this benefit you and the broadband industry?
Today, the Tellabs 1000 MSAP supports many legacy analog cards, including ISDN, HDSL, DID, DOD, E&M, ETO, FXO/FXS, Leased line, 2- or 4-wire service, PBX and PLAR – and that’s just to name a handful. Uniquely, the Tellabs 1000 MSAP does this while supporting contemporary fiber-based and IP/Ethernet-based. No other access equipment manufacturer can do that – not one!
So, what can you do with this truly converged access platform?
The Tellabs 1000 MSAP is ideal for a long list of access applications for services providers that directly enhance revenue, for example:
- Class-5 switch replacement
- 911 redundancy and diversity
- Residential, business services and mobile traffic backhaul
- DSL, Ethernet, SONET, ATM and Narrowband connectivity
- D4 channel bank replacement
- Small 1/0 mux replacement
- And, power, solar and wind farm applications
And best of all, service providers can support all of the above applications in a manner that reduces operational expenses, improves service reliability and preserves existing revenues while adding new revenues.
