We’re proud of our veterans and the contribution they make to protect our country and our freedom. For many veterans, the transition from the military to civilian life is challenging. To assist veterans make a smooth entry into the private sector, we’re offering a gratis Passive Optical LAN training class to help jump start careers in IT and network management.
Tellabs, with our valued partners IT Veterans and Global Com, will provide a 5-day Optical LAN Deployment and Support Certification Training scheduled for November 13th through 17th at the Global Com Innovations Lab (Sterling, Virginia) at no cost. This education has tremendous professional value in a technology that is experiencing accelerating growth across civilian, intelligence and military agencies. The certification will elevate your resume, and put your personal skills in high demand with installers, integrators, and government entities deploying Optical LAN inside buildings, campuses and military bases around the world.
This Passive Optical LAN education incorporates both lectures and guided lab activities and covers Passive Optical Networking (e.g. G-PON, 10 gigabit XGS-PON) technologies used inside buildings and across campuses. This education normally costs $3,800 (plus $1,000 per student). However, we’re providing this class to sixteen (16) students free of charge to support military veterans looking to make a successful return to civilian life. This training will also be available for former and current government employees as room permits.
